Private Lesson Program

MMA is committed to providing consistent, quality music instruction to all interested young artists by keeping the studio open for private and group lessons year-round. Private lessons are 30 minutes each week; 60 minutes upon request.

Group Lesson Program

  • MMA features music and vocal group lessons throughout the year in the form of ensembles, bands, and competition teams.
  • Participation is subject to teacher approval.
  • Group lessons are 60 mins.

Payment

  • All lessons are based off a yearly tuition divided into 12 monthly payments.
  • All lessons at MMA are paid monthly. Tuition is due on the first business day of each month. There is a 7 day grace period before a $15.00 late fee is charged.
  • MMA requires a credit card on file. All families are opted into our auto-pay system. Auto-pay is strongly encouraged in order to avoid late fee accrual.
  • If a student takes a lesson before payment has been made, the credit card on file will be charged.
  • MMA does not accept American Express.
  • There is a one-time registration fee of $25.00 due upon enrollment.

Lesson Cancellation Policy

  • Each MMA student will receive one absence per month. As always, twenty-four hour notice is required.
  • MMA will contact you with two in-studio makeup date options. If neither date works for you and your student, MMA will offer a virtual lesson. If a virtual lesson can not be arranged, the make-up lesson will be forfeited.
  • If you cancel due to COVID symptoms, please provide a negative test result prior to returning to the studio.
  • Same day cancellations and no-shows will not be given a makeup lesson regardless of reason.  No exceptions.
  • Private lesson students are allowed no more than one absence a month.  Additional absences will not be makeup eligible.
  • Should a faculty member cancel a lesson, you are guaranteed a makeup or a credit for that missed lesson.
  • Questions or concerns regarding this policy should be directed to the front desk staff. Contact the MMA front desk at 732.223.2121 or email info@mmdacademy.com to cancel a lesson.  Be sure to leave a message when calling outside business hours; the date and time of the call will be recorded and taken into consideration.

Lesson Reschedule Policy

  • MMA’s front desk staff will contact parents to schedule makeup lessons for eligible students.
  • As a courtesy makeup lessons are scheduled and are an extension to a regular lesson or on a different day.
  • Makeup lessons expire 30 days from date of absence.
  • In the case of Group Lessons, with 24 hours notice, a student may attend another class of the same level/age group if available.  No refunds, credits or makeup lessons will be given for missed group classes.
  • We cannot guarantee the same instructor for makeup lessons.

Withdrawal/Leave of Absence Policy

  • MMA requires 30 days notice via email prior to withdrawal or leave of absence.
  • Lessons at MMA continue year round including throughout the summer months.  Failure to inform MMA of withdrawal or leave of absence may result in you being charged for a month you do not plan to attend.
  • We must be informed prior to the upcoming billing cycle to ensure we can adjust our schedule and enroll new students accordingly.

Inclement Weather Closings

  • MMA does not necessarily close for inclement weather when area schools do.
  • If in doubt, call MMA no more than one hour prior to a lesson for a message on opening status.
  • If the studio must close due to inclement weather or emergency, makeup lessons will be arranged.
  • Closing information will be emailed/texted and posted on social media.
  • No refunds will be made.
